Hometown Dairy Celebrates National Breakfast Week

In the spirit of encouraging healthy lifestyles and increasing awareness of the importance of breakfast, Hometown Dairy is celebrating National Breakfast Week with meaningful initiatives. Starting from 14 to 20 February 2024, Hometown Dairy pampers Great Giant Foods (GGF) employees on floors 38, 39 and 40 of Sequis Tower Jakarta with free breakfast in the form of Hometown milk. This step not only shows the company’s commitment to employee welfare, but is also part of a joint effort to push the Freshest and Creamiest message with #TheFreshestAndCreamiestMilkInTown in hometown milk, with the aim of working together to encourage healthy breakfast habits in the community.

Head of Brand and Marketing GGF Any Astuti said “Breakfast is an important step to start the day with optimal energy and focus. One breakfast combination that is highly recommended is milk and fruit. Milk is a source of high protein and calcium which is important for strengthening bones and teeth, and maintaining muscles. Apart from that, milk also contains vitamin D which supports calcium absorption in the body.” “The combination of milk with fresh fruit adds fiber, vitamins and antioxidants needed to maintain overall health,” concluded Any.

Breakfast with milk and fruit provides the complete nutrition the body needs to start the day well. Fruits contain fiber which helps maintain smooth digestion and regulate blood sugar levels. Apart from that, fruits are also rich in vitamin C which improves the immune system and antioxidants which protect body cells from damage caused by free radicals. The combination of milk and fruit also provides long-lasting energy because it contains complex carbohydrates and natural sugars that are available gradually in the body.

The importance of breakfast with milk is also related to increasing concentration and productivity. The nutrients obtained from breakfast provide the energy the brain needs to function properly, thereby helping improve concentration, memory and thinking ability. By starting the day with a healthy breakfast, a person is also likely to make better food choices throughout the day and control weight.
Meanwhile National Breakfast Week is an annual event held in Indonesia to increase public awareness of the importance of breakfast as part of a healthy lifestyle. This event is usually held over a period of time to educate people about the benefits of breakfast and encourage them to make it a daily habit.

The main aim of National Breakfast Week is to address the prevalence of nutritional problems in Indonesia, especially among children and adolescents. A healthy breakfast provides the important nutrients the body needs to grow and develop properly, as well as providing the energy needed to carry out daily activities. By increasing awareness of the importance of breakfast, it is hoped that it can reduce the risk of health problems such as obesity, metabolic disorders and concentration problems at school or work.

During National Breakfast Week, various parties such as the government, schools, companies and community organizations participate in organizing activities and educational programs related to breakfast. Starting from providing information about balanced nutrition to providing free breakfast, all efforts are made to change people’s eating patterns towards healthier ones.

This event also provides momentum for various parties to work together to support a healthy lifestyle in Indonesia. Through inter-sector collaboration, it is hoped that the message about the importance of breakfast can be more easily conveyed and accepted by the wider community. Thus, National Breakfast Week is not only an annual event, but also a national movement to encourage positive changes in the eating patterns and lifestyles of Indonesian people.

This activity initiative received a warm welcome from GGF employees. “This free breakfast really provides additional energy to start the day well. “I feel fresher and ready to face tasks at the office,” said Almaz, a GGF employee. Apart from that, this activity is also a moment that strengthens relationships between employees, creating a warmer and more solid atmosphere in the work environment. Apart from the free breakfast, on this occasion a photo competition was also held by uploading a photo of breakfast with Hometown milk by uploading it to an Instagram story. The competition was held to win a MAP voucher prize of 1 million rupiah for 4 winners.

Not only does it provide benefits for employees, the breakfast initiative by Hometown Dairy is also an inspiration for other companies to contribute to encouraging healthy lifestyles in the community. With small steps like these, it is hoped that there will be positive changes in diet and awareness of the importance of nutrition for long-term health. As part of the community, every company has a role to play in creating a positive impact, and Hometown Dairy has provided an inspiring example through this initiative to celebrate National Breakfast Week.
