PT GGP Participates in Deliberations on Stunting Program in 2024

Head of Government and Human Development, Central Lampung Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Dedi Prasetyo, coordinated the exit plan for the 2022-2023 stunting program in the Terbanggi Besar District locus and determined a new locus for the 2024 stunting program as well as discussing the synergy of the Community-Based Total Sanitation program (STBM), Sustainable Food House Area (KRPL) and Women Farmers Group (KWT), Wednesday (10/1).
Coordination of discussions on the stunting program was attended by representatives of several related agencies including Bappeda, Education Agency, Health Agency, Food Security and BKKBN Services, and PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP).

The activity was carried out in the Bappeda Office Hall, attended by the Head of Government and Human Development, Mr. Dedi Prasetyo, Functional Young Expert Planner, Mrs. Septi Astrinasari, Head of the Consumption and Food Safety Division, Mrs. Reni Puspitasari, PIC of PT GGP’s CRD external stunting handling program, Mrs. Weni Puspa and the team Mrs Vinka Rilasya and PT GGP Sustainability team Mr Nanda Dita Syahpradana.

In his statement, Mr. Dedi Prasetyo said, PT GGP was very good in terms of strategic planning and had been systematically structured to handle the stunting program in Central Lampung. The Central Lampung government hopes that PT GGP can become a pioneer for other companies in Central Lampung for best practices in handling reducing stunting rates in certain loci in Central Lampung.

“The Lamteng District Government really appreciates the CSR program carried out by PT GGP, because the CSR programs carried out are sustainable. “The Regency Government is very grateful for the company’s cooperation and dedication to caring for the environment around the Company,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Reni Puspitasari emphasized that the KWT and KRPL programs are very good and very good at supporting the reduction of stunting rates through a healthy lifestyle, starting from cultivated vegetable plants.

“PT GGP has contributed quite a lot to the construction of greenhouses and also support related to planting seeds and also community development in the agricultural sector,” said Mrs. Reni.

Apart from everyone’s role and cooperation in suppressing and preventing stunting in Central Lampung, there are many factors that influence the emergence of malnutrition problems. The stunting program is necessary and very important to be handled jointly, whether from the government, private sector or society.

“In executing and implementing the stunting management program, we are trying to provide education, not only in terms of diet, but also in terms of parenting and lifestyle. “As a private sector, we would also like to thank the government and local communities who took part in this program and have supported the GGF program very well,” explained Mrs. Weni Puspa.

Through this stunting discussion, proposals from the locus villages in the form of sensitive intervention proposals in the form of sanitation and clean water, increasing awareness of parenting and access to nutritious food, will

GGF 2024 Townhall Meeting

Great Giant Foods (GGF) started 2024 with new enthusiasm through holding a Townhall Meeting which was held in the meeting room of the GGF Training Center Building, Terbanggi Besar, Wednesday (24/1/24).

The event began with remarks from the Commissioner of Gunung Sewu Kencana (GSK) Mr. Eddy Tamboto and Mr. Setiawan Achmad as the Board of Commissioners of GGF, present together with the Board of Directors including, President Director of GGF Mr. Tommy Wattimena, CEO of Protein and Plant Based Business Mr. Joseph Lay, MD FA & Corporate Strategy and CEO of Farmers Empowerment Partnership, Mrs. Jane Fransisca.

Also present were Managing Director of Production & Sourcing GGF Mr Wayan Ardana, Managing Director of Corporate Service Mr Djoni Wesida, Director of HRGA Mrs Rina Faqih, Head of Processed Pine Plantation Directorate Mr Imanudin, Technical Advisor for Plantation and R&D Mr Fauzan, Crop Development Manager Mr Margo Tri Laksono, Division Head of Quality Assurance Mr. Ketut Isatriyanto, Factory Division Head Mr. Halim Sunarto Jaya.

The activity continued with discussions with commissioners and directors as well as GGF leaders. The Townhall Meeting is a communication and information channel for directors and company management with all GGF leaders which aims to strengthen understanding of business strategy in 2024, as well as being a motivation to increase adaptability, as well as develop quickly and agilely to achieve company targets.

On this occasion, Mr. Tommy Wattimena delivered a brief evaluation of the previous year’s performance, as well as detailing the direction of the 2024 work plan, and emphasized the main objectives of this activity. Unila Agribusiness Masters Study Program Field Visit at PT GGP

Students from the Agribusiness Masters Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung (UNILA), carried out a field visit to PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP), Terbanggibesar, Central Lampung.

The field visit was attended by 16 students and 2 lecturers for the 2023 Agribusiness Masters Study Program. Accompanied by the Agribusiness Masters Lecturer, Dr. Ir. Dyah Aring Hepiana Letasi, M.S. and Dr. Ir. Wuryaningsih Dwi Sayekti, M.S, the visit aims to increase knowledge and see firsthand the implementation of agribusiness management carried out by PT GGP.
In carrying out this field visit activity, the agribusiness management implemented by PT Great Giant Pineapple from upstream to downstream was discussed, thereby producing products that are competitive.

This field visit activity began with the presentation of material and discussions starting from the company profile, production activities, cultivation, land processing, marketing to the implementation of pineapple production waste processing.

On this occasion, students visited and saw firsthand plantation operational activities and the process of pineapple fruit up to the labeling and packaging of canned pineapple products that would be exported. This canned pineapple export is intended for export to more than 60 countries. During this visit, students gained a lot of in-depth insight into agribusiness management.

Working Visit of the Head of PPIH, Ministry of Industry at PT GGP

PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP), Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung, welcomed the working visit of the Halal Industry Empowerment Center (PPIH) team of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in the context of socializing halal certification facilities and halal industry best practices policies.

Present at the visit was the Head of PPIH, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohammad Ari Kurnia Taufik and his staff, and were received by company representatives by the PT GGP Quality Assurance (QA) team.

Mohammad Ari Kurnia Taufik said that this visit was a form of PPIH’s support for the national halal industry so that it could be better known in the world. PPIH hopes that in the future more halal industries can be brought to the international stage to spread their wings in the global halal market.

As Head of PPIH, he really appreciates PT GGP which has received several certificates. This certificate guarantees compliance with the rules that must be followed in the production, packaging and sales of food and beverages.
“Congratulations to PT GGP, because getting several certifications is very difficult and complicated,” said Mohammad Ari Kurnia Taufik.

He said, Indonesia is a country with enormous potential for developing halal products, even with the right strategy Indonesia can become a major part of the global halal value chain. As the main wheel in efforts to maximize the potential of the domestic halal product market and become a major part of the global halal value chain, PPIH encourages the empowerment of the halal industry through activities in formulating technical regulations and policies, facilitation, coaching and supervision as well as promotion of the halal industry.

“Halal industrial products are no longer just a niche market for certain beliefs, but have changed to become the standard of today’s lifestyle which is better, healthier and more environmentally conscious,” he explained.

Representing QA PT GGP, Rizky, said that the use of the certification logo was carried out in accordance with the rules set by the certificate issuer. If the manufacturer’s application meets the criteria for certification, the certification body will supervise and verify the production, packaging and sales processes.

“Producers who wish to obtain certification must begin the certification process by contacting the organization that issued the certification. “PT GGP has so far always passed the audit process in accordance with certification rules,” said Rizky.
