GGF Wins 2 Awards in Indonesia’s Best Corporate Sustainability Initiatives

The Indonesia’s Best Corporate Sustainability Initiatives program was again held by MIX MarComm Magazine (SWA Group). The annual program, which is entering its 7th year, is a recognition for the business world in Indonesia for corporate sustainability programs or better known as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs. Great Giant Foods (GGF) on this occasion managed to win 2 awards for the Circular Economy and Creating Shared Value (CSV) categories. The award was handed over on Wednesday 18 January 2023 by SWA Group Chief Editor Kemal Effendi Gani and received directly by Managing Director of Financial Accounting and Corporate Strategy Jane Fransisca at the LSPR Jakarta Auditorium.

On this occasion, Managing Director of Financial Accounting and Corporate Strategy Jane Fransisca said “I would like to thank Mix Marcomm Magazine and SWA Group for the award given to GGF. GGF through the Created Shared Value program has been collaborating with local fruit farmers since 2016, until now, GGF has worked with around 1,400 fruit farmers and in the future GGF targets to work with 3,000 fruit farmers.

Meanwhile, Editor-in-Chief of MIX MarComm Magazine Lis Hendriani said that unlike the implementation of recognition for CSR in general, Indonesia’s Best Corporate Sustainability Initiatives organized by MIX MarComm Magazine-SWA Media Group used Philip Kotler and Nancy Lee’s concept of MARKETING & CORPORATE SOCIAL INITIATIVES. “This is to encourage the business world to spread their sustainability initiatives more broadly, to be more creative, innovative and relevant to their business,” said Lis Hendriani.

Apart from running the Created Share Value (CSV) program, GGF has also implemented the Circular Economy Concept with a measurable and integrated system in carrying out its production process. The concept of a sustainable Circular Economy is implemented from upstream to downstream. All waste or uncommercial products produced are reprocessed as business opportunities whose benefits are also felt by farmers and ranchers as partners, local communities and consumers.

Re.juve Holds Community Fun Run to Commemorate World Cancer Day

In commemoration of World Cancer Day 2023, Re.juve held a community fun run event with the Indo Runners Yogyakarta runner community with the theme “Standing Together to #LiveHappier”, as well as a celebration of the opening of Re.juve’s second store in Yogyakarta, which is located at Plaza Ambarrukmo.

“After getting a very good response from the public at the opening of the first outlet at Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta in December 2022, we started 2023 by opening the 86th store in this city, to be precise at Plaza Ambarrukmo, ground floor. The opening of this outlet is certainly part of our commitment to make Re.juve products more easily accessible to the people of Yogyakarta, so that more people can live happier lives and live a sustainable healthy lifestyle by choosing delicious food and drink products, healthy and honest. This World Cancer Day moment is the right moment for us to make a better contribution to the people of Yogyakarta,” said Richard Anthony, CEO and President Director of Re.juve.

The commemoration of World Cancer Day was held with the intention of reminding the public to be aware of the importance of maintaining health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is the leading cause of death in the world, and the burden of this disease is increasing. By 2021, WHO estimates that 20 million people will be diagnosed with cancer and 10 million will die from cancer.

“As a community that cares about a sustainable healthy lifestyle, we are very pleased to be invited to work with Re.juve to hold a community fun run event like this. This activity is a breakthrough for the community to be more aware of the importance of being wise in choosing food and drink intake for the health of our bodies. Especially for those of us who are active, it is now even more helpful in fulfilling proper and practical nutrition in supporting our activities and hobbies,” said Robertus Indra, Chairman of Indo Runners Yogyakarta.

To complement this community fun run, Re.juve also held a health talk entitled “Standing Together to #LiveHappier” with dr. Noviani, SpGK, clinical nutrition specialist and Richard Anthony, CEO and President Director of Re.juve. The talkshow outlined the importance of carefully choosing the right nutritional intake in helping prevent cancer risk. “A lot of the content of antioxidants, vitamin C, and beta-carotene comes from fruits and vegetables. Studies show that people who regularly eat fruits and vegetables have a lower risk of cancer. The phytochemicals contained in it can protect cells from harmful compounds in food and the environment, as well as prevent cell damage and mutation,” said dr. Noviani, SpGK.

“Through this activity and our second store expansion in Yogyakarta, we hope that more and more consumers will care and be wiser in choosing good food and drink intake to prevent diseases such as cancer. Of course we will continue to carry out activities like this, both in Yogyakarta and other cities in Indonesia so that more and more people are exposed to a more balanced lifestyle through healthy food and drink, and active exercise,” concluded Richard Anthony, CEO and President Director of Re .juve.

PT GGP Gets Appreciation from LPHPA Lampung Province

The Lampung Provincial Institute for Observing Women and Children’s Rights (LPHPA) gave appreciation to PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP) as a company that fulfilled 12 responsive indicators in supporting the government, especially in Central Lampung Regency as a Child-friendly District.

This was disclosed by the Director of LPHPA Lampung Toni Fisher as the resource person at the 2023 Coordination Meeting of the Task Force and Child-Friendly Districts (KLA) which was held at the Siger Mas Hall IV Floor, Central Lampung Regent’s Office (Lamteng), Tuesday (10/1).

“LPHPA is of course very proud and gives appreciation to PT GGP where this company is so responsive to the Child-Friendly District Program, namely by providing lactation (breastfeeding) places, TPA workers, educational and play facilities, sports facilities, mother and child medical centers, school pick-up buses, houses of worship, stunting CSR programs, sewing partnership CSR programs, cavendish banana chip partnerships and also support the Women Farmers Group (KWT),” said Toni Fisher.

Toni added that the existence of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program conducted by PT GGP certainly greatly assisted the Central Lampung Regency Government in participating in improving the welfare of the community, especially mothers and children. Present at the activity included the Head of the Lamteng Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Office
Nuliana, Head of Human Development Administration (P2M) for Ancar, Head of Regional Apparatus in Central Lampung Regency, and PT Great Giant Pineapple represented by Internal CRD Gregorius Aris Tjahja Kristiawannoegroho.

The Coordination Meeting for the Task Force Team and the KLA Team was opened by the Assistant for General Administration and HR Eko Dian Susanto. In his remarks, he emphasized that in order to realize a Child-Friendly District, a strategy was needed to integrate the fulfillment of the basic rights of children in the preparation of laws and regulations from the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation stages.

“Build a network of cooperation and operational commitment to the KLA policy by strengthening women’s empowerment and child protection institutions. Non-governmental organizations and the business world must be proactive in efforts to fulfill children’s rights through advocacy, socialization and facilities in the field of manpower, budgets, infrastructure and technological methods,” said Eko.

The Task Force Coordination Meeting also raised questions regarding the high number of divorces and child marriages that occurred in Central Lampung. As an effort to prevent the impact on increasing the decline in the level of social welfare due to divorce cases.

“This is of course PPPA’s note to make Central Lampung Regency a Child-Friendly Regency by sitting together with the Religious Courts on how the process of divorce or underage marriage can be enforced so that people are not easy to file for divorce or even propose a marriage in accordance with applicable regulations, explained Nuliana.

In the near future, LPHPA and PPPA plan to carry out a socialization program at the company with seminar material on preventing domestic violence (KDRT) for mothers and children among workers, explained Aris after the activity.
