PT Umas Jaya Agrotama First Harvest of Partnership Cassava Demonstration Plot

Cultivating cassava plants is an alternative choice that farmers can make through a partnership program in the form of profit sharing in addition to having a long-term sustainable impact and making the land more productive.

This partnership program can be used as a means of educating farmers where in the partnership process it provides good planting standards to increase cassava harvest productivity.

This was conveyed by Adas Widiasmoro, Bromelain Enzyme & UJA Head, during the first cassava harvesting activity, on a half-hectare pilot plot in Kampung Tanjung Anom, Wednesday (14/9/22).

With the partnership process with PT Umas Jaya Agrotama (PT UJA) it can help with initial capital assistance so that it is not burdensome for farmers in the context of purchasing fertilizer costs as a means and facility to produce better quality cassava crops.

PT UJA’s cassava partnership pattern with farmers is expected to increase the potential for cassava production where in this cooperation pattern PT UJA also involves PT Inbio Tani Nusantara (PT ITN) to procure LOB liquid organic fertilizer as well as provide technical counseling on its cultivation.

“Many things can be done so that cassava partnership farmers receive training and understand how to plant cassava with the correct care pattern. To get maximum production, of course, the land cultivation factor, seed selection, fertilization method and maintenance must also be considered,” said Pineapple R&D Manager Ibnu Parnadi during a discussion with cassava partnership farmers before the symbolic first harvest was carried out.

“Today there will be the first harvesting process for the cassava partnership demonstration plot, incidentally on my half hectare of land. Today’s harvest is Kasesat with a harvest age of 9 months. My prediction is that 15-17 tonnes during this time are usually around 13-14 tonnes during harvest,” said Mufid Hartono, the owner of the demonstration plot.

I am very happy to be able to join PT UJA’s cassava partnership program. There are conveniences that farmers get, especially the much needed fertilizer. By participating in this partnership, farmers are greatly helped, he said.

Sunpride Present at the 7th Nusantara Fruit Event

Great Giant Foods ( GGF) through one of its products in the form of fresh fruits with the Sunpride brand is back at the Peak of the Event and Closing of the 7th Indonesian Fruits Festival which will be held on Saturday, October 8 2022 in Jakarta.

“We hope that the 7th GBN can be a momentum for the awakening of the fruits of the archipelago to triumph at home and be competitive abroad at competitive prices,” said Deputy for Coordinating Food and Agribusiness of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Musdhalifah Machmud, representing the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto .

Sewu Segar Nusantara (SSN) Undergoes Partnership in Efforts to Meet Demand for Golden Melon Sunpride

Sewu Segar Nusantara (SSN) has strengthened its position as the No. fresh fruit distribution company. 1 in Indonesia, through a partnership scheme with local farmers to meet the demand for 1,040 tons of 69 thousand boxes of Golden Melon by the end of the year.

On Thursday (18/08), Sunpride harvested golden melon together with a group of Sunpride farmer partners chaired by Edi Suyitno in the Gresik Regency area, East Java, which coincided with the 77th Indonesian Independence Day.

The Edi Suyitno farmer group has been a partner of Sunpride farmers since 2018, with golden melon production which was initially only 1-2 tons/week to fulfill Sunpride’s demand at the Sidoarjo Market. However, currently it has routinely supplied 6-10 tonnes/week (during low season), up to 20 tonnes/week during high season, not only from Gresik, but also from Golden Melon agricultural centers in Tuban and Lamongan to meet regional demand. Jabodetabek, Bandung, to outer islands (Balikpapan, Pontianak, Makassar and Lampung).

This partnership relationship that has been established, answers one of the problems that are often encountered by small farmers, namely the certainty and continuity of purchasing crops that is bridged by PT SSN. In addition, SSN also provided assistance to local sourcing representative farmer partners, Sunpride, who were scattered in several locations, and were able to drive the local community’s economy, as stated by the Head of Siwalan Village Suhartomo,

Canned Pineapple Export Release Ceremony by DPR RI Chair Puan Maharani at GGP

Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, visited PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP), Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung, in order to conduct a ceremony for the release of canned pineapple exports. The ceremony was marked by the breaking of a jug on a container truck that was ready to go to Panjang Harbor.

During this visit, the daughter of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia also visited a canned pineapple processing factory to see firsthand the process from upstream to downstream until the canned pineapple product entered the container ready for export.

In her speech, Puan said that the results of Indonesian local fruit products should not be inferior to products from abroad in all aspects, such as in terms of quality, packaging, and branding.

According to him, with the ability of local fruit to compete in the global market, the stability of Indonesia’s domestically produced fruit exports can be maintained in order to support the national economy.

“GGP is the largest pineapple exporting company in Indonesia and the world, in the form of canned pineapple packaging, juice, and concentrate. So, this needs to be continuously improved,” he said.

GGF’s Corporate Affairs Director, Welly Soegiono, who also accompanied the visit, explained that GGP’s export activities per year have reached 15-16 thousand containers.

Welly added that in its operations, GGP has adopted the latest technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness in every pineapple processing process, such as precision agriculture with the use of drones and the internet of things as well as egrowers, namely partner farmers. The company also has a good traceability system, because all processes (planting, harvesting, processing) are managed in an integrated manner.

“The company’s pineapple processing has been integrated between the plantation and the factory, including the factory that produces the cans. Thus, pineapples from the garden can be directly processed at the Cannery in fresh condition,” explained Welly.

Celebration of the 77th Republic of Indonesia GGF Lampung

Great Giant Food (GGF) Lampung, held several competitions and competitions to celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia with the theme ‘Recovering Faster, Rising Stronger’.
